We are passionate about keeping our planet clean and green. We started The Ninth Project with the mission to create high-quality garments in the most responsible and ethical way possible. We have worked very hard to integrate sustainability in every step of our business and we are very proud of the materials we use and the people we work with.
PREMIUM MATERIALS AND RELIABLE QUALITY
The better the quality, the longer the product lasts. Before we add new products, we do durability, wash, and wear tests to make sure they’ll stand the test of time. We only work with suppliers that produce high-quality products that last many washes, keeping print colors vibrant and the fabric soft.
Producing long-lasting products means reducing new purchases and in turn, this means less waste. We believe that slow fashion is the key to turning the textile industry around.
ETHICAL PROCESS AND RESPECT
Our products are made in a factory where the spinning, dye, weaving, cut and sew are integrated. Vertical integration leads to cost savings which can be reinvested in the facilities. This means that the environment is clean, light, modern, and positive.
When you get a product from The Ninth Project, you can be sure it was sourced, produced and printed by an adult that works in an ethical factory and who receives a dignifying compensation. This is crucial to our movement. Respecting people’s work is a complement of our eco-friendly efforts. One cannot be without the other.
We structured The Ninth Project to work as a made-to-order business. We don’t mass-produce or order in bulk. We only keep blanks in our inventory and as orders come in, we print or embroider our design in the blanks in record times with our direct-to-garment (DTG) printers. You won’t notice the difference but there is a huge one: there is no waste, no remaining stock, nothing to throw away.
For our DTG prints, we use Kornit machines and inks. Kornit uses high-quality, water-based vegan inks that they formulate, test, and produce in their own factories. Kornit inks are non-hazardous, toxin-free, biodegradable, and certified with an OEKO-TEX Eco Passport. We print our posters with Epson inks that are certified by GreenGuard.
We believe that this alone can help change the industry into a more sustainable business.
Around 78% of our orders are delivered in the same region they’re fulfilled. Having fulfillment centers close to our customers is good both for the business and the planet. Strategically located fulfillment centers allow for faster shipping times and lower shipping costs, and it also helps with reducing the CO₂ emissions produced when transporting orders.
Our warehouses are located in both USA coasts, Canada, Europe and Australia.
We know that by doing all this we are just making a dent in the problem but everyone can contribute from their corner, this is our contribution to change the industry and keep our favorite places green and full of life.
You can help us in our reforestation efforts by supporting our project. Our reforestation program plants a tree with every order and you can tell us where you want your trees planted.
